Quality Assurance Manager – Dairy Manufacturing
A long-established and growing dairy company is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team at a plant south of Madison, WI. This family-owned business has been operating for over 40 years and is expanding operations with this new leadership position.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing from the floor (not the office), mentoring personnel, and ensuring the highest levels of quality and compliance in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Implement QA policies, procedures, and directives to ensure compliance with company, customer, and government standards.
Train and mentor Quality Control Technicians directly on the floor.
Review test results and effectively communicate findings to customers.
Participate in customer audits and annual SQF audits.
Conduct pre-shipment reviews, CCPs, validation studies, and oversee GMP, HACCP, and SSOP compliance.
Direct inspection and sampling activities for materials, facilities, and products.
Collaborate with Plant and Sanitation Managers to ensure facility upkeep and proper maintenance.
Identify problems quickly, analyze data, and develop solutions in team settings.
Qualifications:
3+ years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing preferred.
Strong knowledge of QA processes, HACCP, SSOP, SOP, USDA, and FDA standards.
Experience with audits and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency with computers, reporting, and inventory systems (DSI preferred).
PCQI certification and/or food science background preferred.
Familiarity with organic, Kosher, and Halal standards a plus.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
