Hvac Journeyman Job Summary

We are searching for a Residential HVAC to install and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in our clients' buildings. As a Journeyman, you need to have completed an apprenticeship, passed the Journeyman exam, and earned a license from the state. We also prefer that you have experience in a field like sheet metal work or refrigeration. In this role, your primary responsibilities will involve performing preventative maintenance, but you will also install duct, compression, and other HVAC systems in new buildings. We may also have you work with apprentices looking to gain on-the-job experience.

Hvac Journeyman Duties and Responsibilities

  • Repair malfunctioning HVAC systems
  • Inspect functioning systems for potential issues
  • Install new HVAC systems in new build or renovation projects
  • Follow blueprints from other HVAC specialists or design your own systems
  • Test and troubleshoot your installations after completion

Hvac Journeyman Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate; secondary certificate preferred
  • Completed HVAC apprenticeship
  • HVAC license
  • Sheet metal work or refrigeration experience
  • Blueprint reading skills
