Quality Engineer – CNC / Machining Environment

A well-established precision machining operation is adding a Quality Engineer to support continued growth. This is a hands-on role where you’ll have real influence over processes, not just paperwork. If you enjoy being on the floor, collaborating with machinists, and driving continuous improvement — this could be a great fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead quality initiatives across CNC machining and production processes
  • Develop and improve inspection plans, control plans, and PFMEAs
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5 Whys, etc.)
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and customers on quality issues
  • Oversee first article inspections and PPAP documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce scrap and improve process capability
  • Assist with internal audits and quality system maintenance

What They’re Looking For

  • Experience in a machining or metal manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
  • Familiarity with PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and SPC
  • Hands-on problem-solving mindset
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with shop floor teams
  • Ability to balance customer requirements with practical production solutions
