gpac is partnered with a well-established food manufacturing company that is seeking an R&D Product Development Manager to support ongoing innovation and product optimization within its protein portfolio. This is a highly independent role with a strong hands-on focus, ideal for a technical professional who enjoys owning products from concept through refinement.

Position Overview

The R&D Product Development Manager will be responsible for hands-on product development and fine-tuning, with a primary focus on bacon and ham products. This role will work closely with internal teams and external customers to ensure product quality, flavor accuracy, and formulation consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product development and refinement efforts for bacon and ham products

  • Manage product sampling and formulation adjustments

  • Fine-tune flavor profiles to ensure consistent taste and quality

  • Develop and adjust ingredient blends and injection formulations for ham and bacon

  • Coordinate light scheduling related to R&D trials and samples

  • Communicate with customers and buyers regarding product specifications and feedback

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance

Qualifications

  • Background in R&D or product development within food manufacturing

  • Experience with cured meats, bacon, ham, or protein processing

  • Knowledge of ingredient functionality and injection systems

  • Strong attention to detail and sensory evaluation skills

  • Comfortable working independently in a self-directed role

  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders

Compensation

  • Salary range: $80,000–$110,000 (commensurate with experience)
