A highly reputable and growing public accounting firm in Gaithersburg, MD is searching for an experienced Trust & Estates Manager to lead complex engagements, mentor a specialized team, and help shape the future of their fiduciary and exempt organizations practice.
This firm has continued to expand — adding 10+ new hires this year — and this position is critical to supporting continued growth and exceptional client service.
Review and manage high-level individual, fiduciary, estate, and gift tax engagements
Oversee filings for private foundations and related charities
(Forms 990, 990-PF, 990-T, state registrations & compliance calendars)
Lead multi-state estate, probate, inheritance, and income tax compliance
Manage estate, trust & guardianship fiduciary accountings
Provide strategic consulting:
estate/gift tax planning, GST, distribution strategies, multi-year modeling
Review legal and planning documents with a tax-focused lens
Manage full client relationships — trusted advisor role
Mentor and develop tax staff
Contribute to business development and thought leadership initiatives
CPA required
7–10+ years relevant Trust & Estates experience
Strong expertise in complex fiduciary & exempt org matters
Confident leader with excellent communication skills
Passion for client service and advisory work
Base Salary: $150K–$210K DOE
401(k) with 4% match
