Maintenance Manager

Salary: $110,000–$115,000 Base + Benefits
Schedule: Full-Time | Exempt

The Opportunity

A growing, family-owned pet food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to take ownership of the maintenance department at its Illinois manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being on the plant floor, working alongside technicians and troubleshooting equipment, while also leading the bigger-picture maintenance strategy.

The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Plant Manager and operations team to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, strengthen preventive maintenance, and support continued improvements throughout the facility.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Lead, develop, and support the plant maintenance team
• Own and strengthen the preventive maintenance (PM) program
• Manage and optimize the plant’s CMMS
• Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues
• Prioritize maintenance work and ensure timely repairs
• Partner closely with operations and plant leadership
• Support equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and capital projects
• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and overall plant performance
• Help build a proactive, reliability-focused maintenance culture

What They’re Looking For

• Maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting background
• Experience leading and developing maintenance technicians
• Working knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance programs
• Experience utilizing a CMMS to manage maintenance activities
• Strong understanding of equipment reliability and downtime reduction
• Ability to balance hands-on troubleshooting with department leadership and planning
• Food, pet food, feed, or other high-volume manufacturing experience is a plus

Compensation

$110,000–$115,000 base salary + full benefits package
