Operations Coordinator / Shop Manager

A growing North American leader in foundation construction tools, equipment, and rental services is expanding its Ontario workshop and seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator / Shop Manger to own day-to-day shop performance.

The Role:
Hands-on leadership position responsible for running a busy workshop that repairs, reconditions, and prepares construction drilling tools and casings for major foundation contractors. You’ll lead the team, set and enforce quality standards, manage workflow, and ensure every part leaves the shop ready to perform.

Key Duties:

  • Supervise welders, technicians, and yard staff
  • Oversee tool inspection, repair, welding, and reconditioning processes
  • Build and maintain quality procedures and checklists
  • Prioritize jobs to meet customer delivery schedules
  • Hands-on welding/repair work when required
  • Control inventory, consumables, and shop efficiency
  • Champion safety, cleanliness, and continuous improvement
  • Train and develop the team as headcount grows

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years in workshop/heavy equipment maintenance or foundation/construction tooling
  • Proven people leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong welding and mechanical repair experience (welding ticket strongly preferred)
  • Comfortable being hands-on while managing the big picture
  • Experience creating or working with quality/maintenance procedures
