Job Description

An established manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Vertical Milling Machinist / Setup Operator with strong hands-on machining and setup capabilities. This position is ideal for a machinist who can independently set up equipment, make program adjustments, troubleshoot machining issues, and produce precision components from blueprints.

This is not a machine-operator-only position. Candidates should have several years of hands-on CNC machining experience and be comfortable taking ownership of the machining process from setup through final inspection.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC vertical milling equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Select appropriate tooling and determine proper feeds and speeds.
• Edit CNC programs and make offsets as required.
• Set up jobs independently and troubleshoot machining or tooling issues.
• Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality throughout production.
• Machine larger, complex, and high-precision components.
• Follow established safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on CNC machining and setup experience.
• Strong setup experience beyond basic machine operation.
• Ability to independently read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining processes.
• Experience editing CNC programs and making offsets.
• Ability to inspect your own work and troubleshoot machining problems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Experience machining large or complex components highly valued.
• Background in mold, die, tooling, aerospace, heavy industrial, or high-precision machining is a plus.
