🔍 About the Role:

We’re looking for a Truss Design Manager to lead our growing design team in producing high-quality structural truss systems for residential and commercial construction projects. In this role, you'll combine your technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You’ll work closely with builders, sales, and production to keep things running smoothly and structurally sound.

🛠️ What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of truss designers and drafters

  • Oversee and review design work to ensure accuracy, code compliance, and manufacturability

  • Collaborate with sales and production teams to review project specs, resolve issues, and streamline workflow

  • Interpret architectural and structural plans to create truss layouts and component designs using MiTek (or similar software)

  • Communicate with customers and builders to clarify design requirements and provide technical support

  • Implement and maintain design standards, best practices, and software updates

  • Manage department scheduling and workload to meet project deadlines

  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities

🧱 What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in truss design, including floor and roof systems

  • 1–2+ years in a leadership or management role preferred

  • Proficiency in truss design software (e.g., MiTek, Alpine, or similar)

  • Strong understanding of residential/light commercial construction and framing methods

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
