Job Description

Position Summary 

Looking for a skilled Water and/or Fire Restoration Technician who will play a key role in monitoring, inspecting, and completing restoration projects to meet high standards. This role involves handling tasks such as drying, demolition, packing out contents, and performing fire restoration duties. The Technician will document each stage of the project accurately—including notes, photos, and forms—per company protocols to ensure insurance reimbursement. They will also communicate directly with customers to explain processes, provide updates, and outline next steps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retrieve work orders, gather necessary equipment and supplies, and arrive prepared at each job site.
  • Communicate in person with customers, explaining job processes and next steps using company-provided materials, with or without a supervisor.
  • Complete assigned projects according to company standards, maintaining quality control and ensuring timely completion.
  • Perform tasks such as fire/smoke damage repair, water extraction, pack-out of contents, removal of non-salvageable items, light construction, and demolition as directed.
  • Properly handle and maintain equipment, supplies, vehicles, and materials, reporting any malfunctions or damage to a supervisor.
  • Adjust drying plans based on daily meter readings, inspect work upon completion, obtain customer signatures for approval, and handle payment requests when needed.
  • Resolve customer concerns, communicate job details and any issues to supervisors and relevant team members.
  • Prepare documentation, including photos, per company procedures to facilitate insurance reimbursements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in restoration or construction.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities.
  • Knowledge of disaster restoration.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to punctuality and professional appearance in company uniform.
  • Move and position objects up to 70 pounds regularly.
  • Stand and walk for long periods; perform activities that involve lifting, squatting, crawling, and crouching.
  • Adapt to various indoor and outdoor work environments, which may involve fluctuating temperatures or limited climate control

Preferred Certifications:

  • FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
  • OCT – Odor Control Technician
  • WTR – Water Damage Restoration Technician
  • ASD – Applied Structural Drying Technician
