VDC Manager – Commercial Construction

One of the nation’s largest general contractors is looking to bring on a VDC Manager to help drive how projects are planned, coordinated, and built.

This is a high-impact role sitting right in the middle of operations—not off to the side. You’ll work directly with project managers, superintendents, and trade partners to make sure models actually translate into better decisions, tighter coordination, and smoother execution in the field.

They don’t treat VDC like a checkbox. It’s a core part of how they deliver work—and they’re looking for someone who can push that even further.

What this role looks like:

• You’re involved early—supporting preconstruction with constructability reviews, logistics, and sequencing
• You’re leading coordination—running clash detection and driving productive conversations with trade partners
• You’re connected to the field—helping teams solve real problems, not just modeling them
• You’re influencing outcomes—reducing risk, improving schedules, and making projects run cleaner

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead VDC efforts across multiple commercial projects from design through execution
• Facilitate coordination meetings and manage clash detection workflows
• Partner with operations teams to align models with real-world construction sequencing
• Support site logistics planning and phasing using model-based tools
• Help standardize and elevate VDC processes across projects
• Act as a go-to resource for both field teams and project leadership

What they’re looking for:

• Proven experience leading VDC/BIM on commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods—not just software
• Ability to communicate with field teams, design teams, and subcontractors alike
• Someone who takes ownership and can drive coordination—not just attend meetings
• A mindset focused on problem-solving, not just modeling

Tools & background:

• Experience with Revit, Navisworks, and related platforms
• Background with a general contractor or major trade partner
• Exposure to field operations or project management is a big plus
