We are partnered with a reputable and stable Electrical Construction Company who is seeking a highly talented Controller - Locally.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 8 years of related experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong fundamental accounting and reporting skills including general ledger and subledger operations, monthly close cycle, account reconciliations and financial statement preparation
  • Background in construction or job cost accounting required.
  • Strong U.S. GAAP accounting experience
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
  • Ability to present complex issues in a simple logical and succinct manner with confidence and precision
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organization and planning skills coupled with ability to work in a dynamic environment and execute activities to satisfy departmental and company objectives.

Responsibilities:

A key member of the Corporate Accounting team, the Controller will report to the President. will support the Company’s accounting and financial reporting operations including, but not limited to, external audit support, joint venture reporting, technical accounting and development/maintenance of a strong control environment. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with management of the Corporate Accounting department including general ledger, A/R and asset management, and management reporting. Direct supervision of the day-to-day and long-term strategic functioning of the accounts payable and payroll teams.
  • Support various ongoing accounting and reporting initiatives including ERP and other ancillary system implementations and upgrades as well as process enhancements with focus on improving system efficiencies, internal controls and business processes in conjunction with leadership.
  • Effectively lead department staff by coaching, developing, communicating, delegating, and holding staff accountable. Create a team-oriented environment which motivates staff and keeps employees engaged in their jobs and the Company.

The salary range for this position is between $100,000 - 130,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
