Job Title: HE Mechanic / Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic / Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of heavy construction and specialty equipment. This position is primarily shop-based, with occasional field service as needed. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting abilities, particularly in hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and powertrain diagnostics, and is comfortable working on complex equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, including CAN-bus controls
  • Perform major component repairs and rebuilds on diesel engines, powertrains, undercarriage systems, transmissions, and structural components
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and equipment inspections to ensure safety, performance, and reliability
  • Complete service documentation, parts lookups, and work order reporting accurately and timely
  • Perform shop repairs while safely operating heavy equipment and support tools


Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience working on heavy construction equipment such as earthmoving, foundation, utility, crane, mining, or specialty equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Experience with electronic controls, CAN-bus systems, and diagnostic software is highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of diesel engines and powertrain systems
  • Ability to interpret service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
