Trusts & Estates Attorney – High Net Worth & Ultra-High Net Worth Planning

Fort Lauderdale, Florida | 4–10 Years' Experience | AM Law National Firm | Immediate Opening

A leading national Law firm is seeking a skilled Trusts and Estates Attorney with 4 to 10 years of experience to join its Fort Lauderdale office. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney to work with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients on sophisticated planning matters, alongside some of the most respected practitioners in the field. Responsibilities:

  • Advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices on comprehensive estate planning strategies tailored to their unique goals and circumstances.
  • Design and implement sophisticated tax planning structures, including gift, estate, generation-skipping transfer, and income tax minimization strategies.
  • Draft and review complex trust instruments, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning documents.
  • Counsel clients on trust and estate administration matters, including fiduciary duties, trust accounting, beneficiary communications, and dispute resolution.
  • Advise business owners on succession planning, including buy-sell agreements, family limited partnerships, family limited liability companies, and other ownership transition structures.
  • Collaborate with clients' financial advisors, accountants, and other advisors to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary planning solutions.
  • Leverage the firm's national platform to coordinate cross-border and multi-state planning matters.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials; LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred.
  • 4 to 10 years of trust and estates experience at a law firm, with a demonstrated focus on planning for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
  • Substantial experience with sophisticated tax planning, trust and estate administration, and business succession strategies.
  • Active Florida Bar admission required; board certification in Wills, Trusts and Estates is a plus.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and client communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage matters independently while collaborating effectively across practice groups.
