JOB DESCRIPTION
A growing pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) erector is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee large-scale commercial and industrial projects primarily throughout Texas and the Southeastern U.S. Projects include data centers, aviation facilities, and big-box commercial developments up to 4M sq. ft.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and expanding contractor headquartered in Kansas City. This role requires 100% travel.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage daily field operations for PEMB erection projects
- Oversee schedules, manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and site logistics
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, inspectors, and field crews
- Lead structural steel and PEMB erection activities from mobilization through completion
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Conduct safety meetings and maintain OSHA compliance
- Review drawings, RFIs, specifications, and project documents
- Utilize Bluebeam Revu for plan review and coordination
- Track production, progress reports, and field documentation
- Coordinate inspections, deliveries, cranes, and erection sequencing
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a PEMB Superintendent
- Experience with large commercial, industrial, aviation, or data center projects
- Strong knowledge of PEMB systems and structural steel erection
- Current OSHA 30 Certification required
- Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to travel full-time throughout Texas and the Southeast
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Base Salary: $125,000 – $155,000 DOE
- Minimum 10% bonus with no cap
- Health and dental insurance
- Per diem provided
- Truck allowance during first year, then company vehicle
- Company-paid flights home twice monthly for extended 3-day weekends
