Operations / Facility Engineer - Precast Concrete in Kansas City

Job Description

GPAC has partnered with an industry leader in precast concrete manufacturing, recognized for its structural and architectural excellence, innovation in construction, and commitment to sustainability. They are seeking an experienced Operations / Facility Engineer to oversee plant operations, optimize manufacturing processes, and support the company’s continued growth.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in precast concrete manufacturing and an understanding of concrete design. Experience in bridge construction is a plus, as well as a PE certification. This role requires a sharp analytical mind to assess castings, understand capacity ratings, identify necessary upgrades, and evaluate in-house production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate plant operations and processes to ensure optimal efficiency, safety, and product quality.
• Analyze castings and production methods, assessing capacity ratings and identifying opportunities for improvements and upgrades.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to implement operational improvements.
• Provide technical support for concrete design and product development.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company quality standards.
• Support capital project planning and oversee implementation of facility upgrades.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate on equipment procurement and ensure proper installation and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in precast concrete manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Familiarity with concrete design standards and practices.
• Bridge construction experience preferred.
• PE certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Demonstrated leadership in a plant or operations setting.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
