Job Title: Hauling Operations Manager

Reports to: General Manager or COO

Company Overview: Our client, a respected name in the waste and recycling industry, is hiring a Hauling Operations Manager to lead daily hauling operations, drive efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Job Summary: The Hauling Operations Manager will oversee routing, staffing, customer service, and safety. This role is essential in developing standard operating procedures, setting clear goals, and mentoring a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily hauling operations, routes, and staff

  • Optimize routes: tons per labor hour, miles, lifts, and missed stops

  • Ensure DOT, OSHA, and safety compliance

  • Investigate accidents/injuries and implement corrective action

  • Lead driver training and safety meetings

  • Address escalated customer service issues and municipal relationships

  • Monitor service hours and vehicle inspections

  • Coordinate staffing, hiring needs, and payroll

  • Support performance metrics, reporting, and process improvement

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of supervisory experience

  • 4+ years in hauling operations or related field

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor’s preferred

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office and routing software

  • CDL A or B with air brake endorsement preferred or willing to obtain

  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and labor laws
