Job Title: Detailing Manager – Structural Steel
Job Type: Full-Time, In-Office

We are looking for an experienced Steel Detailing Manager with 5–10 years of experience as a BIM/Detailing Manager in the structural steel industry. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fabrication and erection standards, AISC standards, and AWS codes. Experience with Tekla Structures is a plus.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review design drawings and advise on fabrication preferences

  • Manage and supervise outside detailers to ensure company standards are followed

  • Perform BIM coordination as needed

  • Set up templates and detailing workflows at project start

  • Track and maintain detailing schedules and logs

  • Review fabrication and erection drawings for accuracy and quality

  • Compare fabrication drawings to contract design drawings

  • Assist with in-house drawing revisions and fabrication releases

  • Troubleshoot CNC, DXF, and KSS file issues with project team

  • Control and maintain project models

  • Monitor and enforce drawing standards for shop efficiency

  • Coordinate drawing delivery with Project Managers and Erectors

  • Provide Tekla training and support for consistency and quality

  • Assist with programming and project management tasks as needed

  • Ensure all required details and notes are accurately reflected in shop and erection drawings

  • Review architectural drawings to meet AESS and finish requirements

  • Confirm Erection Drawings are issued within 3 days of final fab release

  • Verify all approval comments are incorporated in final shop drawings


Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in steel detailing/BIM management

  • In-depth knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection standards

  • Familiarity with AISC standards and AWS welding codes

  • Proficiency in Tekla Structures highly preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
