As the 3rd Shift Sanitation Manager, you’ll oversee all production and sanitation operations during the overnight shift. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency while leading a team of dedicated associates.
This position requires a hands-on leader who can balance coaching and development with strategic planning and process improvement. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining compliance with industry regulations, ensuring smooth shift transitions, and fostering a safe, high-performing workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all production and sanitation operations during 3rd shift, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient facility.
- Develop and execute sanitation schedules, verifying all equipment and areas meet USDA, FDA, and company cleanliness standards.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of hourly associates, promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and improve KPIs for safety, quality, yield, productivity, and overall efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, USDA, FDA, and other relevant food safety and regulatory programs.
- Partner with the Sanitation, Maintenance, HR, and Quality departments to address issues and maintain operational excellence.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce waste, enhance productivity, and control costs.
- Utilize digital tools such as ShopLogix and Safety Chain for real-time data tracking, trend analysis, and shift reporting.
- Oversee timekeeping, scheduling, and attendance for your team, ensuring adequate coverage and efficiency.
- Serve as a key leader on the overnight shift, ensuring all employees work safely, productively, and in alignment with company values.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years of management or supervisory experience in food manufacturing or a similar environment.
- Deep understanding of food safety standards and regulatory compliance (HACCP, GMPs, OSHA).
- Experience managing sanitation or production teams in a cold, wet, and fast-paced facility.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a collaborative management style. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and production management systems (ShopLogix, Safety Chain preferred).
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly desirable.
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Food Science, Manufacturing, or related field).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $85,000–$95,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Bonus: Target 10% (based on company performance and profitability)
