Overview This firm has a dynamic and growing litigation team and is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of litigation experience to join them. This position offers a combination of meaningful client contact, hands-on casework, and mentorship from seasoned litigators in a supportive, fast-moving environment.

The ideal candidate is proactive, driven, and eager to help take cases through all phases such as document drafting, taking and defending depositions, and participation in trial preparation. Background in toxic tort, personal injury matter, or related litigation experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage initial client consultations, onboarding, and ongoing communications.

  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and other litigation documents.

  • Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy.

  • Prepare cases for trial, including exhibit prep, witness coordination, and trial notebooks.

  • Work closely with partners, paralegals, and investigators to execute litigation plans.

  • Travel as needed for depositions, client meetings, and court appearances (some overnight).

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school.

  • Active Illinois law license; additional Missouri admission is a plus.

  • 1–3 years of litigation experience (toxic tort/mass tort background valued).

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple deadlines.

  • Team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
