Inside Sales Manager – Lumber & Building Materials
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Inside Sales Manager to join a growing lumber and building materials operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career with a company that offers a clear path into Assistant Manager and Branch Manager leadership roles.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lumber, millwork, building materials, or contractor sales and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment focused on customer service, sales growth, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
• Manage and grow inside sales accounts with contractors, builders, and commercial customers
•Lead daily inside sales activities including quoting, order management, product recommendations, and customer support
• Build strong relationships with customers to drive repeat business and increase market share• Coordinate with outside sales, purchasing, operations, and yard teams to ensure smooth project execution
• Assist with inventory awareness, pricing strategies, and product knowledge training
• Support branch leadership with sales initiatives, customer problem resolution, and team development
• Help improve processes and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the branch
• Prepare for future leadership responsibilities within branch operations and management
Qualifications
• Experience in lumber, millwork, building materials, construction supply, or related industry required
• Prior inside sales or sales management experience preferred
• Strong understanding of contractor sales and customer relationship management
• Ability to read blueprints, takeoffs, or construction plans is a plus
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with estimating, ERP, or POS systems preferred
• Leadership mindset with desire to grow into branch management
