Position Summary- Located on site in Westborough MA
The HVAC Service Manager oversees daily operations of the service department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of HVAC services to residential, commercial, or industrial clients. This role manages service technicians, coordinates scheduling, supports customer satisfaction, and drives department growth through leadership, technical expertise, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of HVAC service technicians and support staff.
Conduct regular performance reviews and implement professional development plans.
Ensure adherence to company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and industry regulations.
Service Operations
Manage daily service schedules, dispatching, and job assignments to maximize efficiency.
Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems (rooftop units, chillers, boilers, refrigeration, VFDs, etc.).
Ensure all jobs are completed to company standards, within budget, and on schedule.
Monitor inventory, tools, vehicles, and parts necessary for service operations.
Customer Relations
Maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring clear communication and exceptional service delivery.
Resolve escalated customer issues promptly and professionally.
Provide technical expertise and recommendations for system upgrades or improvements.
Financial & Administrative
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and department reports for leadership review.
Monitor labor costs, service revenue, and profitability metrics.
Support business development by identifying upselling opportunities and assisting with proposals or bids.
Continuous Improvement
Implement best practices for preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Introduce process improvements to reduce downtime and increase customer satisfaction.
Stay current on HVAC technology, controls, and industry trends.
