Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Unit Manager (RN or LPN) to lead a nursing unit in providing high-quality care to residents. The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical skills with effective leadership to supervise nursing staff, ensure compliance with care standards, and foster a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality care to residents through medical treatments and personal care assistance

  • Administer medications per physician orders and facility protocols

  • Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), assign duties, and enforce facility policies

  • Accurately document resident behaviors, conditions, and treatments in clinical records

  • Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new nursing staff

  • Manage general unit functions including hiring, disciplining, and employee evaluations

  • Plan and lead staff meetings and committees focused on resident care quality

  • Monitor staffing patterns and adjust assignments to meet resident needs and budget requirements

  • Conduct ongoing clinical monitoring to maintain high standards of care

  • Communicate with physicians to ensure timely and appropriate resident interventions

  • Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) initiatives and facility improvement programs

  • Manage medications, supplies, and necessary documentation for effective care delivery

  • Support continuing education and professional development for nursing staff

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN or LPN license in the state of Michigan

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to supervise, coach, and collaborate effectively with nursing teams
