Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Unit Manager (RN or LPN) to lead a nursing unit in providing high-quality care to residents. The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical skills with effective leadership to supervise nursing staff, ensure compliance with care standards, and foster a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver quality care to residents through medical treatments and personal care assistance
Administer medications per physician orders and facility protocols
Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), assign duties, and enforce facility policies
Accurately document resident behaviors, conditions, and treatments in clinical records
Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new nursing staff
Manage general unit functions including hiring, disciplining, and employee evaluations
Plan and lead staff meetings and committees focused on resident care quality
Monitor staffing patterns and adjust assignments to meet resident needs and budget requirements
Conduct ongoing clinical monitoring to maintain high standards of care
Communicate with physicians to ensure timely and appropriate resident interventions
Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) initiatives and facility improvement programs
Manage medications, supplies, and necessary documentation for effective care delivery
Support continuing education and professional development for nursing staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Active RN or LPN license in the state of Michigan
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Proven ability to supervise, coach, and collaborate effectively with nursing teams
