Job Description

Job Title: Project Manager – Heavy Civil Roadway/Highway Construction

Job Summary:
The Project Manager will lead large-scale highway and roadway construction projects for the Department of Transportation (DOT), ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with DOT standards. The role involves managing all phases of heavy civil roadway projects, including paving, grading, and drainage. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing complex highway jobs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage large DOT highway construction projects from planning to completion.
  • Oversee paving, grading, drainage, and other roadway construction activities.
  • Coordinate with DOT officials, crews, and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
  • Track budgets, schedules, and progress to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Address challenges and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing heavy civil roadway or highway construction projects.
  • Familiarity with DOT standards and large-scale highway job requirements.
  • Familiarity with HCSS HeavyJob is highly preferred.
  • Strong project management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specs, and contracts for roadway work.
  • Effective communication for coordinating with teams and DOT representatives.
