gpac is working with a client that is seeking and ready to interview an experienced Director of Operations (Manufacturing) to lead and oversee multiple food manufacturing plants in Illinois and Wisconsin. This company has been in business for over 50 years, and they are looking for someone to contribute to their success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operational leadership, continuous improvement, and multi-site management within the dairy industry. MUST HAVE DAIRY/CHEESE background to be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily operations to meet production, safety, and quality objectives.
Oversee plant managers and operational leadership teams.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma.
Develop and manage production schedules, budgets, and workforce planning.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, quality, and safety standards.
Introduce new technologies and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field.
10+ years of manufacturing operations experience (dairy, cheese preferred).
Minimum of 7 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple facilities.
Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and operational KPIs.
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
Work Environment: Primarily office-based with regular on-site visits to multiple manufacturing facilities. Extended periods of computer work required; occasional lifting of materials up to 15 lbs.
