Job Description

A growing manufacturer in Chesterfield, MI is hiring a skilled Mold Maker to build tools, dies, and prototype molds, working closely with programmers every day. Injection molding experience is a big plus, especially in plastics or medical device manufacturing.

What you'll do:

• Plan the sequence of operations for building tools and dies from blueprints
• Fit and assemble gauges and metal-forming equipment with hand tools
• Build prototype molds from aluminum, bronze, and other materials
• Complete dies by promised dates and produce samples to customer specs
• Coordinate daily with programmers to finish projects

What you bring:

• Broad machining knowledge, shop math, and blueprint reading
• Understanding of how common metals and alloys machine (hardness, heat tolerance)
• Mechanical aptitude and independent problem solving
• High school or vocational education with math, blueprint reading, metalworking, or drafting
• Injection molding machine experience preferred

Working conditions: Noisy shop, PPE required, standing about half the day with some moderately heavy lifting, and extended hours are common.
