Job Description

A client that has asked us to confidentially search for a full-time Quality Assurance Manager, for their facility south of Madison, WI. This dairy company has been in business for 40 years and are growing significantly, adding a new position. They are looking for someone with Quality Assurance management experience, and able to oversee 2 plants in town. This position is ideal for someone who prefers to manage from the floor, not an office, and enjoys mentoring personnel.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

· Daytime hours but flexible for special situations

· Implement QA policies, procedures, and directives to ensure compliance with company, customer, and government expectations, providing feedback and follow-up for corrective action.

· Understand test results and be able to communicate adequately to customers

· Participate in customer audits and annual SQF audits as needed.

· Conduct pre-shipment reviews, CCPs, validation studies, and report deficiencies for GMPs, HACCP, and SSOPs.

· Direct inspection and sampling activities to maintain continuous control over materials, facilities, and products, including specification inspections, temperature, and weight checks.

· Identify and resolve problems promptly; skillfully gather and analyze information; develop alternative solutions; and work well in group problem-solving situations.

· Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Sanitation Manager to ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and grounds.

 

Qualifications:

· 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred

· Computer skills, analytical, equipment and food-processing equipment knowledge.

· Knowledge of quality control processes related to the food-processing industry.

· Knowledge of quality process control and HACCP, SSOP and SOP.

· Knowledge of USDA and FDA standards.

· Experience with audits

· Good organizational and communication skills both verbally and written.

· Familiarity with organic, Kosher and Halal preferred

· PCQI certification preferred

· Food science background preferred

· Familiarity with inventory systems (DSI preferred)

· Familiarity with Capa forms

· Train and mentor Quality Control Technicians
