Job Description

GPAC is partnering with a community-centered, mission-driven nonprofit organization to identify their next School-based Therapist in La Crosse.

This organization is seeking candidates skilled in providing counseling for children, adolescents and families to help them manage and overcome life’s challenges. This is a new position that works in partnership with area schools, but is based at the client organization's offices. It is a full-time, year-round role with counseling services offered in other settings (office / home) during the summer.

Seeking candidates with the following attributes:

Responsibilities:

  • Direct Care Services
    • Individual therapy; group therapy; family therapy; in-home therapy
    • Diagnostic assessments, other assessments or direct care services as trained or qualified. 
  • Documentation
    • Maintain client files, ensuring completed and timely documentation of provided services in accordance with agency policies and governing standards.
    • Complete all required forms and process in the electronic health records (EHR) system in a timeframe consistent with service and billing requirements.
  • Training & Consultation 
    • Complete or maintain training on best practice and evidence based models with successful outcomes.
    • Stay abreast of new developments in clinical area of expertise.
  • Agency Participation: 
    • Participate in scheduled individual and/or group supervision, staff meetings, and other agency meetings, committees, or groups as requested.
    • Perform community presentations or other outreach services as required.

Requirements:

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Counseling or similar field
  • Licensure in one of the following areas: LPCC, MFT, LICSW
  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience providing counseling services to youth and/or families
