Legal Assistant – Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach, CA, or Remote (California-based only)
A premier law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant with 5+ years of civil litigation experience to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive legal professional to support a dynamic group of attorneys in a collaborative, team-based environment. The role can be hybrid in either Los Angeles or Manhattan Beach, and fully remote is available for experienced candidates residing in California.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full administrative and litigation support to attorneys across all stages of case management
- Prepare, revise, and finalize legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail
- E-file legal documents in state, federal, and appellate courts
- Manage and organize confidential case files, legal records, and reports
- Handle time entry, billing processes, client intake, and conflicts checks
- Maintain and update attorneys' calendars; coordinate meetings, court dates, travel, and deadlines
- Assist with client communication and ensure smooth workflow across multiple cases
- Perform additional administrative tasks and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience; California litigation experience required
- Proficient in e-filing procedures and knowledgeable of California and Federal court rules
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Familiar with electronic document management systems
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Excellent grammar, writing, and proofreading abilities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced legal environment
- Proactive team player with a positive, client-focused attitude
