Project Manager / Estimator – Asphalt Paving
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator with a strong background in asphalt paving and heavy highway construction. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating and managing municipal roads, county roads, highways, and other DOT projects from bid through completion.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates and bids for asphalt paving and heavy highway projects
- Manage projects from award through completion
- Estimate and manage municipal, county, state, and DOT projects
- Review plans, specifications, quantities, and bid requirements
- Develop project budgets, schedules, and cost projections
- Coordinate with owners, municipalities, DOT representatives, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams
- Track project costs, production, materials, and overall profitability
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Assist with project scheduling and resource planning
- Identify potential project risks and cost impacts
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in asphalt paving, heavy highway, or related civil construction
- Strong estimating and project management experience
- Experience with municipal roads, county roads, highways, and DOT projects
- Strong understanding of asphalt paving operations, production, materials, and quantities
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Experience with project budgets, scheduling, and cost tracking
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
