Miscellaneous Metals Estimator
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a background in miscellaneous metals fabrication. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating projects involving stairs, railings, ladders, platforms, structural supports, and other miscellaneous metal fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates and bids for miscellaneous metals fabrication projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Perform material and quantity takeoffs
- Price materials, fabrication, labor, finishing, delivery, and installation
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare proposals and detailed estimates
- Work closely with sales, project management, detailing, and fabrication teams
- Identify potential cost impacts, exclusions, and project risks
- Manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience estimating miscellaneous metals or similar fabrication
- Strong understanding of miscellaneous metals fabrication and installation
- Experience with stairs, railings, ladders, platforms, and structural/miscellaneous steel preferred
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Strong understanding of material, labor, and fabrication costs
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
