Packaging Specialist / Operator – 1st Shift

Location: Medford, MA

Pay Rate: 19 - $21 per hour

The Opportunity

As a Packaging Specialist / Operator, you'll be responsible for accurately, safely, and efficiently packaging finished food products according to production schedules, customer specifications, and quality standards.

You'll operate packaging equipment, prepare materials, verify labels, build finished pallets, and help keep production moving efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Operate packaging and labeling equipment safely and efficiently
• Operate equipment such as case/package labelers, metal detectors, tape machines, bagging equipment, and clippers
• Follow production schedules and prepare upcoming products, packaging materials, labels, and equipment
• Verify labels and packaging to ensure products meet customer specifications
• Prepare and apply accurate pallet tags
• Build pallets according to established specifications and pallet patterns
• Move completed pallets to designated coolers/freezers using approved material-handling equipment
• Complete production and shipping documentation accurately
• Maintain label verification records and other required paperwork
• Monitor product and packaging quality throughout the production process
• Support training and coordination of team members on proper packaging procedures
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, quality, and workplace safety requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient packaging area

What We're Looking For

• Packaging, production, or food manufacturing experience preferred
• Experience operating manufacturing or packaging equipment is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to follow production schedules and written procedures
• Strong understanding of food safety and proper food-handling practices
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
• Dependable, team-oriented approach
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 pounds
• Ability or willingness to become certified to operate a pallet jack
