Job Description

Vice President, Banking Compliance | HMDA & CRA Officer

We’re partnering with a bank seeking a VP of Banking Compliance to strengthen its compliance program across deposit operations, consumer and commercial banking, and lending. This person will serve as the bank’s HMDA and CRA Officer and take a leading role in Fair Lending oversight.

The right candidate can advise senior leaders on regulatory risk while staying close to the details: reviewing disclosures, overseeing HMDA data and reporting, preparing for exams, and making sure identified issues are resolved.

What You’ll Lead

  • Oversee the bank’s Compliance Management System and provide second-line guidance across deposit and lending activities.

  • Serve as HMDA and CRA Officer, including leadership of the bank’s HMDA and CRA task forces.

  • Own oversight of HMDA data quality, validation, reporting, and the annual LAR submission.

  • Guide CRA performance monitoring, assessment area analysis, and exam preparation.

  • Direct Fair Lending risk assessments, monitoring, and analysis of potential disparate treatment or impact.

  • Review compliance findings, determine root causes, and track corrective actions through resolution.

  • Advise on deposit products, account servicing, customer disclosures, new products, and regulatory changes.

  • Present compliance risks and program updates to senior leadership, the Risk Committee, and the Board.

What You Bring

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in bank compliance, risk management, or audit.

  • Direct experience managing or providing substantial oversight of HMDA, CRA, and Fair Lending programs.

  • Knowledge of deposit operations and disclosures, plus consumer and commercial lending compliance.

  • Experience working with bank regulators, such as the OCC, FDIC, CFPB, or Federal Reserve.

  • Working knowledge of regulations such as ECOA/Reg B, TILA, RESPA, UDAAP, Reg DD, and Reg E.

  • The ability to explain complex requirements clearly, influence stakeholders, and follow issues through to resolution.

Experience with a growing bank in the $1B–$10B asset range is a plus. CRCM certification is preferred, not required.

Work location: The role is designated remote. Candidates who live within 50 miles of one of the bank’s office locations would be considered in-office and would not be eligible for remote work.
