Project Manager – Wet Utilities / Underground Construction

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee wet utility and underground construction projects including water, storm, and sewer infrastructure work. This role will be responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and financial performance.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing sitework and underground utility construction projects involving water mains, storm drainage systems, sanitary sewer, and related civil infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage wet utility and underground construction projects from startup through completion
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client communication
  • Coordinate field operations with Superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors
  • Review project plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Track project costs, production, forecasting, and overall profitability
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, municipalities, engineers, and inspectors
  • Support procurement, staffing, and project planning efforts
  • Lead project meetings and maintain project documentation/reporting

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in wet utilities, underground utilities, or civil sitework construction
  • Strong experience with water, storm, sewer, and utility infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of excavation, trenching, pipe installation, grading, and utility coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Experience with municipal or public infrastructure projects is preferred
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling software
