Labor & Employment Attorney

A respected Chicago labor and employment practice is seeking an attorney to join its team representing employers in sophisticated workplace disputes and employment matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys substantive litigation, meaningful responsibility, and employment-related work and wants to continue developing within a focused Labor & Employment practice.

The Practice

The firm handles matters involving:

• Employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
• Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and related state and federal laws
• Illinois Human Rights Act claims
• EEOC and IDHR proceedings
• Wage-and-hour and collective/class action matters
• Employment-related civil litigation
• Workplace investigations and employment counseling

The practice represents both private and public-sector employers in administrative proceedings and Illinois state and federal courts.

What We're Looking For

We are interested in attorneys with a strong litigation foundation and meaningful case responsibility.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

• Labor and employment litigation
• Employment discrimination or civil rights litigation
• §1983 or municipal litigation involving employment-related claims
• Management-side employment defense
• Sophisticated civil defense litigation with significant employment exposure

Preferred experience includes:

• Discovery and depositions
• Witness preparation
• Dispositive motion practice
• EEOC and/or IDHR matters
• Federal court litigation
• Settlement negotiations and mediation
• Trial preparation and case strategy

Direct Labor & Employment experience is highly valued, but strong litigators with meaningfully transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
