We are seeking a skilled Project Manager in Central Minnesota to lead heavy civil construction projects focused on water main, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and wastewater pipeline installations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in underground utility construction, managing budgets and schedules, and coordinating with municipalities, engineers, and field crews to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of heavy civil utility projects from pre-construction through closeout, with a focus on water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and wastewater pipelines.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls to ensure financial performance.
Oversee subcontractors, crews, and equipment to maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards.
Prepare, review, and process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, inspectors, and municipal representatives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards on all job sites.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and support field leadership.
Lead project meetings, provide reporting updates, and ensure accurate project documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent field experience.
5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil/underground utility construction.
Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure, utility installation, and pipeline construction.
Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training (preferred).
