Employment Litigation Associate Attorney

Chicago, IL. Hybrid. Fully Funded Pension.

A well-established Chicago employment law practice is seeking one to two Employment Litigation Associates with 3+ years of substantive employment litigation experience.

This is a true employment litigation role — not a general civil litigation position.

Responsibilities

  • Defend employers in discrimination, retaliation, leave, and accommodation matters under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, IHRA, IWA, and related laws
  • Handle wage-and-hour, class, and collective actions involving the FLSA, IMWL, IWPCA, BIPA, and similar statutes
  • Litigate trade secret, confidentiality, non-compete, and non-solicitation disputes
  • Manage motion practice, written discovery, depositions, and summary judgment
  • Take increasing ownership of matters in Illinois state and federal court

Requirements

  • 3+ years of employment litigation experience
  • Illinois Bar admission
  • Admission to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois
  • Strong experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, and summary judgment
  • Desire to manage matters independently while working collaboratively with other attorneys

Preferred

  • Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar admission
  • First- or second-chair trial experience
  • Experience presenting witnesses at hearings, trials, or arbitrations
  • Employment appellate experience
  • Spanish fluency
  • Portable business or business-development experience

Compensation & Benefits

  • $175,000–$225,000 base, depending on experience
  • Bonus opportunities for hours above 1,850 and new business
  • Credit toward hours for certain marketing and pro bono work
