Litigation Attorney / Senior Attorney

A Chicago-area law firm is seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney with 7+ years of experience to join its expanding practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney looking for sophisticated work, strong client interaction, and a collaborative environment without the bureaucracy of a large national firm.

The firm represents businesses, financial institutions, developers, employers, and individuals across a broad range of complex litigation matters, including commercial, construction, employment, real estate, and business disputes. Attorneys are given meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure, and the ability to play a significant role in case strategy and long-term client relationships.

1 - 2 days a week hyrbid available, along with an aggressive base salary & 40-50k year-end bonus potential. 

Responsibilities

  • Handle litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Manage written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and court appearances
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and legal memoranda
  • Develop litigation strategy and advise clients on risk and resolution options
  • Work closely with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and internal teams

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of litigation experience
  • Active Illinois Bar license in good standing
  • Strong experience handling cases independently
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Experience taking and defending depositions preferred
  • Trial, arbitration, or substantial courtroom experience is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment
