Insurance Coverage Attorney

Chicago law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Insurance Coverage and Litigation practice.
The firm represents insurers, businesses, and corporate clients in a broad range of complex matters involving coverage analysis, litigation, and risk management. The practice offers a mix of advisory and litigation work, providing attorneys with substantial responsibility and direct involvement in high-level matters.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate insurance coverage issues across a variety of policies and claims
- Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and related coverage correspondence
- Handle coverage litigation matters through all stages of litigation when necessary
- Manage discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
- Advise clients on risk exposure, policy interpretation, and litigation strategy
- Work closely with clients, carriers, experts, and internal teams
- Assist with mentoring junior attorneys and supporting practice growth initiatives
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of litigation and/or insurance coverage experience
- Active Illinois Bar license in good standing
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Experience handling complex legal matters independently preferred
- Ability to manage multiple files and maintain strong client relationships
- Litigation experience is welcomed, but attorneys with primarily coverage-focused backgrounds are also encouraged to apply
