General Liability Associate Attorney

Fairfax, VA | Hybrid | Full-Time

About the Opportunity

A well-established Virginia law firm is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to join its litigation practice in Fairfax.

This is an opportunity for an attorney with 1–4 years of litigation experience who enjoys taking an active role in defending clients and wants to continue developing their skills in a substantive litigation environment.

The practice handles a variety of insurance defense, general liability, and civil litigation matters, providing attorneys with the opportunity to work on meaningful cases and gain valuable courtroom experience.

What You'll Do

• Defend clients in a variety of civil litigation matters
• Manage cases through different stages of litigation
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Communicate with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and other parties
• Develop litigation strategies and work toward favorable resolutions
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys and support staff

What We're Looking For

• 1–4 years of experience practicing law
• Virginia Bar admission in good standing
• Experience in insurance defense, general liability, civil litigation, or a related practice area
• Prior trial experience strongly preferred
• Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
• Someone who genuinely enjoys litigation and wants to continue developing as a trial attorney
