Workers’ Compensation Attorney

Plaintiff-Side Practice

Plaintiff-side law firm in Chicago is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Attorney with at least 3+ years of experience to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who wants to work alongside experienced practitioners in a collaborative environment while handling meaningful work on behalf of injured workers.

The firm has built a strong reputation representing individuals in workplace injury matters and offers attorneys the opportunity to manage files with substantial autonomy while benefiting from an experienced support structure and steady case flow.

Responsibilities

  • Handle workers’ compensation matters from intake through resolution
  • Attend hearings, status calls, depositions, and settlement conferences
  • Communicate directly with clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, and insurance representatives
  • Draft motions, petitions, and related legal documents
  • Evaluate claims, develop litigation strategy, and negotiate settlements
  • Maintain case files and manage deadlines effectively
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case handling

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of workers’ compensation experience preferred
  • Active Illinois Bar license in good standing
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage files independently
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a busy caseload
  • Prior plaintiff-side experience is a plus, but not required

Preferred Background

The firm is open to attorneys with experience in:

  • Illinois workers’ compensation matters
  • Plaintiff-side litigation
  • Personal injury litigation
  • Hearings and appearances before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission
  • Settlement negotiations and case strategy
