Job Title: Quality Control Manager – AWS CWI
Position Summary:
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Plan, while overseeing QA/QC functions and technical support staff to ensure compliance with project specifications and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead quality inspections of fabricated products both onsite and at subcontractor locations
Manage the quality team and maintain the quality management system
Establish and monitor quality standards based on project specifications and fabrication processes
Ensure full compliance with contract plans and specifications
Prepare quality and progress reports; maintain detailed inspection and testing records
Monitor quality practices to optimize effectiveness, cost, and productivity
Provide quality expertise during bidding, construction, and post-construction phases
Identify non-conformities, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external customers
Develop and deliver training programs on quality standards and procedures
Travel as needed for site visits, meetings, and training sessions
Skills and Abilities:
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications accurately
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Procore software
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or related field required
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quality Manager
AWS D1.5/D1.5M experience, preferably on USACE or similar projects
Extensive knowledge and expertise in nondestructive testing (NDT)
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential from the American Welding Society (AWS)
