Commercial Litigator (5+ Years) | Abbotsford, BC

A highly regarded and well-established regional law firm in the Fraser Valley is seeking a talented Commercial Litigator with 5+ years of experience to join its growing team. The Opportunity

You will manage a diverse and engaging caseload with a focus on commercial and construction litigation, working alongside experienced practitioners on complex matters from inception through resolution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial and construction litigation files independently
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
  • Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings
  • Provide strategic advice on construction-related disputes, including:
    • Contract disputes
    • Payment disputes
    • Construction defects
  • Collaborate closely with partners, associates, and support staff to deliver excellent client outcomes
  • Stay current with developments in litigation and construction law

Qualifications

  • J.D. or LL.B. from an accredited institution
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial litigation, with exposure to construction law preferred
  • Strong advocacy, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proven track record of successful client outcomes

Compensation & Benefits

  • $140,000 – $160,000 base salary, depending on experience
