Job Description

A well-established independent seed company is seeking a Technical Sales Agronomist—a practical, field-savvy professional who thrives at the intersection of agronomy and sales. This role supports hybrid selection, field trials, and sales team training within corn and soybean production systems. It’s ideal for someone who can deliver technical insights in a way that’s hands-on, relatable, and grounded in real farm operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with testing and evaluation of corn and soybean hybrids to guide product selection and validate in-field performance

  • Train sales staff on crop scouting, including identifying plant health issues, fertility needs, and agronomic best practices

  • Provide recommendations on non-NPK fertility inputs and support internal education around product performance and positioning

  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to align agronomic strategies with customer goals

  • Conduct on-farm visits and support technical conversations with growers as needed

  • Document trial data and clearly communicate findings to internal stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of practical agronomy experience in a commercial ag setting

  • Strong understanding of corn and soybean production systems

  • Skilled in field scouting, hybrid selection, and making practical fertility recommendations

  • Confident communicator, comfortable leading training sessions and engaging with both internal teams and customers

  • A down-to-earth, solution-oriented mindset—focused on real-world application, not theory

  • High energy, self-motivated, and team-focused

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field preferred (advanced academic degrees not required)

  • Certified Crop Advisor

Bonus Quallifications:

  • Familiarity with row crop production in the Mid-Atlantic region

  • Prior experience supporting a sales team in a seed or crop input business

Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)

  • Performance-based incentives

  • Benefits package

  • Opportunities for growth and long-term development within the organization

This is a REMOTE role; This individual can reside anywhere in the Delmarva Peninsula or Mid-Atlantic Region.
