A premier litigation firm is seeking a talented and motivated Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join its thriving Chicago practice. Key Responsibilities
Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including general liability, professional liability, product liability, and/or first-party property claims.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
Conduct and defend depositions of fact witnesses, plaintiffs, and corporate representatives.
Appear in state and federal courts for hearings, status conferences, and oral arguments.
Formulate defense strategies and provide timely, comprehensive reporting to insurance carriers and clients.
Actively participate in trial preparation and assist as second-chair at trial when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 3+ years of dedicated insurance defense litigation experience.
Education: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
Licensure: Active member in good standing with the Illinois State Bar (ARDC).
Skills: * Proven experience taking and defending depositions.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Familiarity with insurance carrier billing practices and guidelines.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a trial team.
