A premier litigation firm is seeking a talented and motivated Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join its thriving Chicago practice. Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including general liability, professional liability, product liability, and/or first-party property claims.

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.

• Conduct and defend depositions of fact witnesses, plaintiffs, and corporate representatives.

• Appear in state and federal courts for hearings, status conferences, and oral arguments.

• Formulate defense strategies and provide timely, comprehensive reporting to insurance carriers and clients.

• Actively participate in trial preparation and assist as second-chair at trial when necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 3+ years of dedicated insurance defense litigation experience.

• Education: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

• Licensure: Active member in good standing with the Illinois State Bar (ARDC).

• Skills: * Proven experience taking and defending depositions.

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with insurance carrier billing practices and guidelines.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a trial team.
