JOB DESCRIPTION

A growing structural steel contractor is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Superintendent to oversee a high-profile commercial/industrial project in Cape Canaveral, Florida. This position will lead field operations for structural steel erection activities on a large-scale project requiring strong coordination, safety leadership, and scheduling expertise.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and expanding steel erector working on complex, fast-paced projects in one of the most active construction markets in the country.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage daily field operations for structural steel erection activities

• Oversee schedules, manpower, subcontractors, equipment, cranes, and site logistics

• Coordinate with project managers, clients, inspectors, and field crews

• Lead structural steel erection activities from mobilization through project completion

• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget

• Conduct safety meetings and maintain OSHA compliance standards

• Review drawings, RFIs, specifications, erection plans, and project documents

• Utilize Bluebeam Revu for plan review and coordination

• Track production, progress reports, and field documentation

• Coordinate inspections, deliveries, crane picks, and erection sequencing

• Maintain quality control and enforce project safety requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Structural Steel Superintendent or Lead Superintendent

• Experience with large commercial, industrial, aerospace, manufacturing, or mission-critical projects

• Strong knowledge of structural steel erection, rigging, and crane coordination

• Current OSHA 30 Certification required

• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu preferred

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage fast-paced projects with aggressive schedules

• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and field crews
