Job Title: Heavy Civil Estimator
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Civil Estimator with a strong background in estimating projects involving excavation, earthwork, drainage, roadway construction, bridge construction, and other miscellaneous concrete structures. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of estimating experience within the heavy civil industry and possess a strong understanding of construction means, methods, and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including sitework, grading, utilities, structures, and roadways.
Review and analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and pricing.
Develop quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment.
Work closely with project management and operations teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of bids.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
Utilize HCSS HeavyBid (highly preferred) or similar estimating software for project estimating and proposal preparation.
Participate in project handoff meetings and provide support through bid award.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience estimating heavy civil projects (earthwork, drainage, roadway, bridge, or concrete structures).
Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid software is highly preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, but not required.
