Tax Associate — Los Angeles, CA

Full-time · Public Accounting

We're looking for a driven Tax Associate with 1–3 years of experience to join our public accounting practice in Los Angeles. You'll work across a diverse client base, sharpen your technical skills fast, and have a clear path toward senior roles.

Key functions

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corps, and C-corps
• Assist with tax planning, projections, and estimated tax calculations for clients across industries
• Research federal and multi-state tax issues and summarize findings in clear client-ready memos
• Support senior associates and managers on complex engagements and special projects
• Respond to IRS and state tax notices; assist with audit support and correspondence
• Maintain organized workpapers and documentation in accordance with firm standards
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through timely, professional communication

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of tax experience in a public accounting environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of federal and California state tax law
• Experience with tax software such as ProConnect, GoSystem, or CCH Axcess
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
