SENIOR ESTIMATOR – COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent
A well-established commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction estimator to work on complex, high-value commercial projects across multiple market sectors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead estimating from conceptual design through final bid and contract award
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, pricing, bid packages and scope reviews
- Review plans, specifications and construction documents
- Solicit, analyze and level subcontractor and vendor bids
- Identify project risks, exclusions and estimating opportunities
- Partner with Project Management, Operations and leadership on project strategy
- Participate in preconstruction, value engineering and client/architect meetings
- Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
- Mentor junior estimating team members and help improve estimating processes
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Strong hard-bid estimating experience required
- Experience estimating complex commercial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, materials and subcontractor scopes
- Experience with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bid analysis and scope leveling
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with construction estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred but not required
