Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee our company's accounts payable department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vendor payments, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and leading a team to maintain accurate financial records. This position requires strong leadership skills to conduct oversight of payment processing, vendor relationships, expense management, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will establish positive working relationships, understand departmental needs, and deliver key financial insights to drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead and develop the accounts payable team, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to best practices
- Payment Processing: Oversee the processing of vendor invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements with accuracy and timeliness
- Policy Development: Develop and implement accounts payable policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile accounts payable transactions
- Cash Flow Optimization: Ensure timely payments to vendors while strategically managing cash flow
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and improve processes
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports related to accounts payable activities
- Closing Procedures: Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes with attention to detail
- System Enhancement: Monitor and improve accounts payable systems for efficiency and accuracy
- Staff Development: Train and mentor accounts payable staff to enhance team performance
- Project Management: Apply excellent project management skills to oversee accounts payable initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or financial management
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus)
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and strong attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
- Self-motivated with robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across functional areas
- Critical thinking skills with ability to recommend strategic improvements
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating high standards of integrity
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $90 - 105k
